Frequently Asked
How does the PokéGen random Pokemon generator choose a Pokemon?
PokéGen picks uniformly from the current pool: if a generation is selected, only Pokemon from that generation are eligible, and a type filter narrows the pool to Pokemon with that type.
What do Generation and Type filters do in PokéGen?
In PokéGen, Generation limits the draw to one game generation, while Type filters for Pokemon that include the selected type. Both filters can be combined, and Generate redraws from the narrowed pool.
What is BST in PokéGen?
BST is the base stat total: HP, Attack, Defense, Sp. Atk, Sp. Def, and Speed added together. PokéGen displays it as a rough indicator of overall strength, not a ranking of actual battle performance.
Why does the Pokemon only change after I click Generate?
PokéGen updates the filter pool instantly, but the draw happens on demand. PokéGen also generates one Pokemon automatically when the page opens.
What does the shiny button do in PokéGen?
It switches the artwork between the standard and shiny color palette for the current Pokemon. This is a local visual toggle in PokéGen and does not change any stats.
