Frequently Asked

How does the type coverage calculator work?

+

Add up to 6 Pokemon to your team. The calculator analyzes which of the 18 types your team can hit super-effectively (offensive coverage) and which types hit your team hard (defensive weaknesses). This helps identify gaps in your team composition.

What is offensive type coverage?

+

Offensive coverage shows which types your team's moves can hit for super-effective damage (2x or more). A well-built team should cover as many of the 18 types as possible to handle any opponent.

What are defensive weaknesses?

+

Defensive weaknesses show which types deal super-effective damage to your team members. Types highlighted with a count show how many of your 6 Pokemon are weak to that type. Critical weaknesses (3+ Pokemon weak) are specially marked.

How many Pokemon can I add to the team?

+

You can add up to 6 Pokemon, matching a standard Pokemon team size. Use the search to find Pokemon by name or number, and click the X button to remove a team member.

Does this account for dual-type Pokemon?

+

Yes! The calculator handles dual-type Pokemon correctly. For example, a Water/Flying type like Gyarados takes 4x damage from Electric moves (super effective against both types) and 0.5x from Fire moves.
